Easter Flowers

The girlfriend's mother asked me to take some photos of her easter flowers.

I like the tight crop of the first one, but is it really as soft as my crappy work monitor thinks it is? It's a little too soft for me.

The second one is soft, too, but gets away with it better. Lovely.

The yellow flower is distracting me from the rest in the first shot. The second frame is classic. I question the focus as well. Maybe soften the image with a heavy blur.

Ya, I guess they are a little soft. I'm not sure why. Could be...scanned from prints with old crappy scanner, not enough PS skill/knowledge.

Also, I took these with a close-up filter rather than tubes or a macro lens. And the filters were on my 35-105, which is not bad but not great either.

I like both the images. If only the first one was a tad sharper!

Gotta agree, the first one would be better if somewhat sharper.
The second has nice DOF but that too could be a little sharper.
Nice shots all the same.

I didn't get anything from the first one--it was too busy for me, but the second one kicks major butt!

The second photo could be a nice 36 x 36 addition to any wall. It would have a place in my "Favorites" folder if I had shot it.
