Was requested to clean her face up. How do you think I did?

Don't like the first two at all, just an everyday family snapshot. Bad background, harsh lighting, bad shadow, etc. I like the 3rd a lot. Though the lady could be sharpened up a little.. the front of her face is a tad out of focus. You may also want to try to lighten up the right side of her face a little and remove some of the red tint.

The "edit" is great... you did a really good job with it. The shot itself... not so much. Harsh shadows, bright and distracting background lights, and a clutter background are all really distracting.

As for the second... Great exposure and you nailed to focus on the baby's eyes (a tigher aperture could have helped you also nail the woman's eyes which are a little out of focus), good lighting too.... but poor framing, you cut off the top of the woman's head and her hand.

Since you asked about the 'cleaning' up of the face edit - I think that looks great! I don't see variations in the skin tones which happens with some people when editing. I like the 3rd shot too - a little quirky and technically, there are some things that would have made it better as arcooke and boomn stated but I like it overall.

Thanks! This was just a family shot... wasn't trying to be fancy because the room was really dark. I was just trying to take capture the memory of the family at my parent's house. This is my niece, and my mom asked if I can clean her face... so I did, lol. Just wanted to know how I did on the actual edit. =) Thanks a bunch for the comments.

I wish I got her hand in the picture, too. That's something I need to work on... Seems like I always cut a body part off. =( They were actually in action through this shot, too.

Shoot wide, crop in post. It is much easier to cut a photo down than to add what is not there.
