This photo made me laugh. Now I have this urge to drop a bunch of eggs in marching order on my sidewalk to make it look like an egg attack.

it looks like you might have just missed focus by a little bit. Seems to be very sharp just infront of the egg.

Lesson learned from taking this, eggs will not fry on the street, no matter how hot it gets outside.

I agree on the focus, unfortunately due to being completely embarrassed by the fact that I was taking a picture of a fried egg in the middle of my street, I didn't get it just right. So the second lesson I learned was be prepared to be looked at oddly while doing fun photos for my hobby.

Next time if someone is looking at you all funny yell something like, "OMG THIS IS AN ALIEN!" or something that is actually funny and not dumb, like I came up with. Maybe, "Pardon me, but would you have any grey poupon?"

Also, eggs WILL fry on a street. I would think you were far enough south for it in Hotlanta, but I guess not. Down here in Corpus I have fried and egg in the street and on a black car.

Pretty cool! Maybe try making the background look brighter, and thus "hotter", as in "So hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk". THe dark background just doesn't seem to convey "hot weather" to me...it's too dark.

When it was lighter the egg didn't stand out quite as well. But I agree with you. The assignment was something that says "summer" to you, but I was taking this at mid-day due to a deadline, and I should have waited until the lighting was better so it wouldn't get so washed out. I appreciate all the comments. I'm glad I'm seeing the same issues.

They will fry if you toss one on the roof top of your home... Tried it and completely cooked it!

If only it was as easy to throw myself on the top of the roof to take a photo of it!

Things that are missing from the photo:

Salt and pepper shaker
fork
knife
napkin

Throw in some sausage while you're at it.

I don't know if you're serious or not but this would actually enhance the photo. Taking it top down, and using a chalk outline for a plate, it could be made into an interesting piece that would allow you to over expose it slightly without blowing your highlights. I think this calls for a retake!!

That sounds like a fun idea, I wish I had that creativity in me. Would you be ok with me stealing your idea and doing a reshoot of it?

Heat gun (or even a hair blow dryer) on the pavement beforehand/during may have increased the "cooked" effect you were looking for.
