The Scarlet tanager is rarely seen around here & usually @ quite a distance. When one came into our mulberry tree today it kept deep inside & hard to spot. I shot only two frames when I got the chance & present them here with moderate crops.
Reminds me of a baltimore oriole that only gave me a sneak peak after I chased it around for 2 hours until it stuck it's head out for a split second.Nice capture and real beauty of a bird.
I have longed to see one myself. Along with a bluebird they are both on my wish list to see one day but no joy so far. You must have been thrilled to have seen one. Thanks for sharing these pics, so nice to see.
