Engagement Photos - Constructive crit please

Very artistic and out of the ordinary. I can see where a lot of folks may not go for this creative, edgy approach, but I think this set has merit. This is where understanding your client is important. The color ones seem a little on the magenta side. The big red shape in the background in the last one (usually a big no no) seems to work in this case.

Thank-you! That's very encouraging to hear!

What is the thing with the Polaroid, anyways? Was that a photo from when they started dating? There must be some significance to it, which is lost on us, a personal thing?
.

The polaroid was more of an experiment than anything else. They wanted a "save the date" photo, so this was where they could write the date on the bottom of the polaroid).
Thanks so much for the feeback! :D

The poloroid would also be more effective if it was not obvious that it was taken the same day. If it wasnt then its weird that they had the same outfits on.

Not quite sure how I missed this thread entirely until today, 8 days later...

I think the first shots, every single one, until the last one, absolutely kick ass. Seriuously. I would be proud to say I took those. The first four, or five, are absolutely wonderful. And I seldom say things like that, so you'd better know I mean it when I say they kick ass.

Here's your constructive crit. Had you made the last shot a vertical, instead of a rather weak horizontal composition, this entire set would have absolutely knocked my socks off. The last shot has what I will politely call less-than-optimal use of the compositional space.

I kind of liked that about it!

Thanks Derrel! That's so reassuring! :D
