Enola- Model/MUA

This is Enola, an aspiring model as well as the makeup artist who I usually team up with. It works out nice that I can skip looking for an MUA whenever I photograph her.

And because I'm always teasing her about how much I still have to retouch after she does a makeup job, I made a before/after.

For the contrast I used a curves layer mask, and for color tones I used a selective color layer mask, then desaturated it a little bit with a saturation layer mask. For skin retouching I used the healing brush tool and dodging and burning.

Dan, I always enjoy seeing your work and your perspective on people. I do have a small nit with this one. I keep wondering what that white bar in her left hand is. Is she at the bottom of some stairs and that is a handrail? The placement and angle of it just confuses my little mind. Otherwise another beautiful shot with wonderful lighting.

I like the lighting and the pose.

There is one thing though that I just noticed after looking at the before and after though. On her forehead there's a faint dark mark running horizontally. It might just be apparent because I'm on a small screen.

I was curious about that as well. I thought it was a rolled up piece of paper but the handrail makes so much more sense.
