Eventide (Sunset Photo) [Same series as Gloaming]

Hey all!

I'm quite new to photography, I started out as a random point and shooter. I have moved up a tiny bit since then, after some very very hard work I saved up for a D80 and a nikkor 18-200mm VR. This photo was taken by that.

I reside in Hong Kong but this photo was taken during a school trip in San Francisco. It was outside a mall.

I have never taken any lessons, everything learnt was from experimentation and reading.

That looks pretty good. Nice colors, sharp sillhouette. Only thing that bothers me is the big black piece at the bottom. Think i would crop a bit of the bottom

The big black piece... Well that's the footpath =)

My friend said it acts as a good leading line... what do you think about that?

Yes, indeed, this is a nice photo. Sharp silhouettes with the nicely shaped tree seemingly glowing in all directions.

As to the road and the middle line acting as a leading line ... I feel that part is to dark, really, to be leading anywhere. Which is why I am with Daan (doenoe) (think about that sig once again, Daan, or I must send you a PM) on that it should best be cropped a little.
