Today, Joe (clarinetjwd) is graduating from college.

It is with great sadness, as he well knows, that I am typing this congratulations thread from Illinois, and not from Baltimore. I wanted very much to be there to celebrate this day with my best friend.

Joe, I may have only been there through the last 2 1/2 of your 5 year journey, but I am still very proud of what you have accomplished . . . and having only done a year at a community college myself so far, I know exactly what a big accomplishment it is.

. . . in an attempt to keep this short and not overly sappy, I'll just repeat:

And to all the well-wishers, thank you too. It was a wonderful day of family and friends, my parents and grandparents were able to make their way to Baltimore, and after the ceremony, the 5 of us and 3 of my best friends and classmates, as well as all of their families went out for dinner at the Papermoon Diner, which is a wonderful place to celebrate. We then made our way back to my apartment for champagne and toasts.

I guess I'll also take this time to let y'all know what's next for me! I am currently working part time (hopefully to be full time sooner rather than later) at Big Huge Games, a video game company, doing sound design.

(BTW, Corry's picture is almost exactly accurate...except that I'm wearing nicer clothes.)
