I am starting to do some video fusion and I would like to know if anyone has any experience with a Fig Rig or if you would like to recommend something similar. I would be using either my Canon Mark ii or my Canon Mark iii mounted to it. Most likely I would be using one camera to shoot stills with and keep the other camera mounted for video. The video clips I would do would be very short. Any advice or experience you have would be appreciated.

I don't have any experience with it, but YouTube.com/freddieW uses them a lot and you can see that is his behind-the-scenes videos. And his videos are entertaining at the same time :)

I've used a Figrig with a video camera and it works very well, but it is pretty unweildy. To use it with a DSLR would probably require a second camera operator to pull focus and make adjustments. It is good for holding the camera steady while walking slowly for some nice tracking shots. Whatever you do don't buy a Figrig, you can make them out of PVC pipe for about $10 in an hour or so.
