Experience with Dreamhost?

Dreamhost is having a pretty amazing sale right now to celebrate their 8th anniversary. The nutshell version is they give you a year of hosting a 1 free domain registration for $24.

I have heard mostly good things about them with 2 exceptions. 1 person said he had a lot of email issues with them and a couple of others said the PHP performance was not great.

Since I am going to be using to (mostly) host a coppermine PHP based gallery I thought I would ask around here to see if anyone has any experience with them.
