Experimenting with "Illustrated" look

We went to take some pics of one of our old houses this last week and found a cool little sidewalk that was full of leaves and I took these of my son. I decided to try an "illustrated" look on them. Let me know what you think. :mrgreen:

Thanks for the comment. I painted the eyes and mouth back in with a mask. Maybe I'll try sharpening them up a bit.

I can't tell you how much I love that 2nd shot. The frame has a wonderful, organic flow and the placement of the child has an almost surreal look. Taking into the fascinating color scheme I gotta say that's one heck of a photo.

i think you pulled the look off very very well in number 2,
number one looks too.... illustrated for me. and there is a slight shadow over his chin..

care to explain how to perform this?
