External Flash

Greetings-

I currently shoot with a Nikon d5100. I've been slowly adding gear to collection for this camera and I am currently interested in everyone's opinion about external flashes.

I know I want an external flash, I just don't know which one I want.

I'm looking for a practical flash(s) for varying photo types. I do portrait, landscape, nature, action and just about anything else that comes my way. My budget is flexible but I would prefer to stay under $500 (but not opposed to spending more if its the light one).

I'm open to any suggests you might have.

Since you pretty much shoot it all, why not a YN56X and an RF603 for about 1/5 of the budget, then the rest on other lens?

I have the SB700 and haven't had any issues with it. I enjoy using it off camera for bouncing light from a different angle.
It's only about 300 bucks if I remember, so that leaves you with 200 for some reflectors, stands, white sheets, and even a cheap set of umbrellas

I have an SB700 as well. If I was smart, I'd sell it for 2 YN563EXs.
