OK, honest question here..... I have a FB page with some of my pictures on it, so I have to ask... what do you get, personally or professionally, to ask someone to 'like' your page ? All can see is that you have some photographs on FB, and you asked a lot of people to 'like' them.. and then they did ..... to what benefit ? Just curious... really !

Thanks everyone for the likes. I liked everyone with my page and then my photography page. I am doing this for the future. I want to get my name out there that way when I start charging and needing clients, I can have a jump on the social/marketing part.

So you will market to those who liked you even if they are halfway around the world?

Seems to me, you need to start networking and collecting facebook friends in your area, and market to them. You know, One person you do a shoot for becomes your friend, and when you post more pictures it shows up on their facebook page, their friends see the post, and hopefully like you, and so on, and so on. THATS marketing via Facebook. Getting forum friends who aren't even in your area, like your page, and having your posts show up on their pages, so that their friends see it, isn't gonna garner you squat.

But what good does that do if it doesn't get you clients? I thought that was the whole point of having a FB photo page...

Why waste time catering to people that will never use your services?
