Fourth Set: Earlier in temples where Raajasic worship was the tradition, animal sacrifices were a regular practice; but due to the strong activities of Sanyasin groups (Hindu Monks), this was legally banned(at least thirty years earlier); now in the State of Kerala this practice is not there; even then some temples have this symbolically. Devotees bring hen and offer it to Goddess as a part of their worship and to complete the process they place a red clothe on the stone of sacrifice; the offerings were later collected by the temple authority and sold in auction....
