Family pics from today (CCs are welcome)

This got to be the weirdest family photos ever. They were rushing me! The whole photoshoot was only 15 minutes. Usually families would go as long as possible to get as many shots as they can. This family wanted to leave right away, I wasnt sure why. We only shoot at one location.

Ok I am not sure if its my monitor but most of them are showing as very soft?

Checked em out on facebook and they seem sharper there, especially number one. Not too bad overall Robin but I'm going to say not your best either. Were they happy? You should fix the glare in his glasses though.

Not sure why you see them soft Dee. I just looked at the EXIF data and pretty much I only had 17 minutes to work with. So it was hard to be creative when you only have that much time . Just got an email from them and they love the photos. They didnt realize how easy it is to take family photos and said they will do it again in the summer.

They don't seem soft to me at all, the pictures turned out great me thinks. They have a really nice warm feeling to them .

3. The crop seems kind of weird, i think getting below waiste would have been better.

5 and 6 with the kids turned out the best IMO

There is a reddish.. pinkish tint. Maybe you should slide it over to the green side a little?

Yeah man, I didnt know they were done. Usually it takes me that much time to warm up LOL. Ill post more later but it wont be any better. Slim selections!

Great job man.. I love the warmness and sharpness (I disagree with the images being soft)

I really like all. no.9 is the best for my taste and I like the feeling in 3. Keep it up man

I still don't have a flash but will get one soon. I have a question if you don't mind. The flash was direct and without any soft box? or there was something used ?

I dont use a light modifier on my on camera flash. I think they are useless to be honest with you. Here is why:
1. If I am oudoor on a sunny day, I use the flash only as a fill flash. Most of the light comes from the sun. The intesity of the light is so small, there is no need to diffuse it.
2. If I am indoor I am going to bounce the flash anyway. I use a small bounce card indoor.
3. if you diffuse it you will lose a lot of flash power and will drain your battery quick.

I checked this on my edtting monitor last night again Robin and they look much better on it compared to the lap top. Glad its just this stupid screen. I would still fix the glare in his glasses though. So how come they only gave you 17 minutes. That is so strange. Anyways I think you have some good shots that you left out on FB. How did this family hire you?

I have enjoyed your work, and critiques of others. One thing I have learned lurking around here is that you need to watch for objects in the picture that should perhaps be removed. Like the stick (fence rail?) out of the guy on the rights rear. He seems happy and all, but its just something that caught my eye. Great set though!
