As far as the walking on water part, The Great Salt Lake is very shallow, you could walk out over a hundred yards where we were and only be up to your waist!

As far as smelling bad...It has a distinct salty smell to it. Sometimes it's really pungent other times it's more subdued. It's usually not that bad.
