As far as smelling bad...It has a distinct salty smell to it. Sometimes it's really pungent other times it's more subdued. It's usually not that bad.

Ah, see.. what I had been told is that they use to dump waste into it.. and well.. Salt kinda helps preserve stuff.... lol.

Well I don't know about waste, but when the wind is just right the faint aroma of rotting eggs can be detected from any point in the valley. :meh:

That's an awesome picture. I wouldn't have expected anyone to be able to get something like that from the salt lake.
