I went to the zoo on Friday and shot a few portraits .....

That tiger is stunning.

Here's mine.. My daughter's friend. I thought it turned out cute.

This is another one I like. I took a similar one with my son and I wanted to try it with my daughter..They both have stunning eyes.

Love this one!!!! WOW!

That tiger is stunning.

Thanks! I agree that he's stunning but the photo needs a little help. That's the best shot of him I've ever got though. He usually lays way at the the back of their paddock, but Friday he was pacing and finally walked down to get a drink of water. That was shot with a 500mm lens and I managed to chop off part of his ears ;( All I had to do was zoom in a little bit but I didn't.

Here's another of him from the same set but I prefer the shot of him drinking.

This was boxing day...this is basically one of my first photos with my new lens. Just a snap shot..we were out for a run with the dogs and she sat still for a moment. "Snickers" Is her name...

Funny story about this one. I thought the firework I was about to shoot off was one of those showers and I wanted to take a long exposure of it to see what it looked like. I lit it, stood back and waited. The damn thing started spinning in circles and zooming all over the place while making the most god awful whistling sound I'd ever heard. Finally it launched off and flew up about 50 feet. Anyway, this was the last picture I took of the year at about 11:55 PM lol.

And this one was after Christmas. I'd just opened my new 55-300mm lens and I was testing out it's zoom capability. I love being able to shoot all the way across my property. (I know that I cut off his feet and I shouldn't have. Also I ignored the rule of thirds)

Still learning, sunrise morning shot in San Jose. Originally was disappointed to see the fog and clouds when I arrived but I think it turned out well.

Here is my favorite from New years eve. Family Portrait taken with self timer. 1- 430EXII camera left, shot through an umbrella. Only took 3 attempts to get my daughter looking at the camera which believe me is VERY lucky! Pretty happy with how it turned out given it was a 10 second self timed shot.

Still learning, sunrise morning shot in San Jose. Originally was disappointed to see the fog and clouds when I arrived but I think it turned out well.

When I wake up in the morning & see clouds & fog I grab the camera & head out in the world! Love the depth it adds to the world.
