Jazzie, did you know Jerry Uelsmann's wife is also a photographer? She also creates montages, but using Photoshop. He still works in the darkroom. They were both in the NYTimes photo blog a couple of years ago:

I adore these two! Both have jaw-dropping skill sets and fantastic imaginations.

Impossible to pick "fave photog" any more than I can single out a favorite book or movie. But I'm fond of the above two, as well as Tim Rudman, Sally Mann, and Josef Sudek.

My favorites are Ansel Adams. Jerry Uelsmann, and Richard Avedon. I live just north of Univ. of Fl.....back in the early '70's, I was fortunate to meet Uelsmann.....he was the person that inspired me to convert a bedroom into a dedicated dark room.....I really miss those days.....
