Some people here in my home town have been asking me to enter pictures in the county fair. I took a pass last year, but I think I'd like to try this year (second week of August). I have a couple I've taken in the last year I think would be good entries (the rules require pics to be no more than 2 yrs old), but yesterday was my first time shooting for this event.

I didn't have to go far for this. The Greenhorn Creek Bridge is a tiny little span just east of town. I was looking for a water shot, but found this instead. We've had a number of rainy days that have been leaving the fields quite green and flowery. And I find it hard to pass up a weathered fence. This one looks like it is holding back the pastels of the field, but it's actually a barrier along part of the creek next to the bridge. It looked like a painting in my mind, so that's how I developed it.

Nikon D810, Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD at 135mm, f/7.1, 1/100s, ISO 640, hand-held.

I'd hang that on my wall any time. Real good composition. Ed
