They can ask you to delete them; they can also ask you to jump off a bridge and dance a jig on the head of a pin. You're obligated to do none of them. All they can do is ask you to leave. If you refuse, you can be charged with trespass (and may suffer a bruise or two in the process). They can ask you to delete the pictures you took before they kick you out.
Are you sure about that? From what I understand, they can ask you to leave or not take pictures, but they cannot make you delete your photos.

Since when did Canada & the USA become communist countries?![]()
I was thinking inside my pants...I don't think they would actually pat you down for a festival...just check my backpack for alcohol I think...How do you plan on smuggling in a DSLR??
Any place with Security I've ever been even checks the tiny little zippered pouch in my purse...

I picked up this camera just for stuff like this , when they tell you you can't use a pro camera. Have not tried it in low light yet but it has one heck of a range.

Shoot well, Joe
Nikon's AF-S 55-200 mm f/4-5.6G ED lens is way better than terrible, if whoever is using it knows how to use it effectively.I own is my D7000 I'm thinking about smuggling it in along with the terrible but "better than nothing" 55-200mm.
What country did that happen in? You don't indicate in your profile what part of the planet you are on and about. My friend got his camera's battery and memory card confiscated by a security guard at a festival - they told him to report to an area at the end of the concert, but the security guard was nowhere to be found. I would have been fuming but my mate didn't seem too annoyed - probably because he knew the risk of taking an SLR in there...
