Few Shots C&C

Just getting started really. Picked up a 300D for $175 a couple weeks ago. About a week later I sold it for $200 and picked up an XS/1000D for $350. Between work and everything else, I haven't had much time to shoot but...on to the shots.

Contrary to common belief, vignette does not make a picture better.

Your photos are just ok. Not horrible but lacking "pop" and the compositions are weak. Don't take that as discouragement, we all start somewhere huh!

In #6 for example I would have shot in "portrait" orientation, framed the subject to the left, head turned slightly into the frame.

It's a good start. I agree with Trever1t about weak compositions. Just keep at it =)

Perhaps some reading; Google "Rule of thirds" and "Golden mean" as well as terms such as "photographic composition". At the end of the day, if you like it, that's what counts, however there are a number of guidelines or rules of thumb which will generally contribute to a stronger, more powerful image.
