Another in the "Not Bad for first attempt" camp.

I really like that both of you have given yourselves a nice dynamic pose with a near and far shoulder positions. The smiles look genuine. The lighting gives a good ratio of lit-to-shadow gradation, although she is taking the brunt. The blue and yellow tops with the green background are a good color matches.

I have two thoughts to consider for the next time. 1) Raise your right hand (near camera) slightly so that we can see your entire wrist and lose the left hand so that it doesn't appear you are holding her against her will and 2) have her try to pull her ears to the back of her head. This will naturally open the eyes slightly.
