Well whaddaya know? Italy loses to Costa Rica. My underdog favourites are going to knockout! Holy cow! And all the English and Italian fans are crying boohoo. Haha.

It's starting to look really good for an Dutch-Germany final.

England are not COMPLETELY out, as our rabid English fans here at work are pointing out. If Italy beats Costa Rica today (Costa Rica are my underdog favourite, so it'd be fun if they beat Italy and head to knockouts, but I bet against them in the pool today, so I hope they lose, too, LOL), and England absolutely creams them by like 4-5 goals in the last group game, England can still get through. Unlikely the way England have played.

Yeah. That could happen.
And the USA *could* beat Portugal and go on to win the Cup.
Dreams are nice. Until the alarm goes off.

Life....Roba was bringing in another sport. A day ago, England was playing New Zealand in Rugby. New Zealand's rugby side particularly unique. Before every match, they line up and do the Haka (a Maori war dance)...it's quite a sight to see. They also wear all black uniforms and are commonly referred to as the "All Blacks" (and yes, they have a mixture of white and black players). To the point where their soccer team wears all-white uniforms and are referred to as the "All Whites" (to try and capture some of the notoriety of the NZ rugby team). It's not a racial thing but a distinctive uniform thing.

This World Cup is quite entertaining to a neutral observer but a cruel, cruel sport for a passionate fan. The USA was 30 seconds from nailing down a spot in the knockout round by beating Portugal. Instead, Geoff Cameron didn't track back quickly enough, Verela gets a step on him and Portugal ties the game on literally the last touch of the match. So now the USA will go into match #3 needing to get a result of sorts (win or tie) or get lucky (lose but Ghana-Portugal tie or the winner only does so 1-0).

And Portugal doesn't deserve to advance after the embarrassment that was their first match. Complete breakdown of team discipline.

I'm excited for the Dutch win today, they're looking good! And I'm not too worried about Brazil, I don't think the home squad has performed anywhere near where they're "supposed to". Argentina, on the other hand, is a dangerous group. I'm going to cheer for Costa Rica as hard as I am for the Dutch, though - Pura Vida! LOL.
