Film in Bullk

What kind of tape do you use to attach the film? Plain old masking tape or Scotch tape or is there a special photo tape just for this purpose?

I use scotch tape, with the green label.

That work out pretty well? Or do you have to be extra careful at the end of the roll so you don't pull the film off the leader and wind it over the take-up?

Haven't had a problem yet. Rewind in my Nikons is pretty gentle and doesn't have much "pull" power.
I put a piece on the top and bottom of the film and wrap it on the spool.

What if I'm using the used cassettes like Fuddy suggested? Taping film to film, I mean?
