Yeah they knew their stuff. Let me try out a few lenses and a 1.4 TC. Which I might add I was VERY underwhelmed by the TC.

I've not been overly impressed by the 1.4 tc either. However, one day I really want to try it with a 2.8 lens. Instead of getting a new car, I really would like to get the newest version of the 300 2.8.

Agreed...200mm to 280mm is not that much of a difference...

Same here. Also used on 300 f4 and not worth it for the most part.

The 2x works great on a 70-200 mm F/2.8, I ordered a 1.4x that should be in next week so I can speak more to that hopefully soon.

I also agree. Cropping seems to work better or at least as well in most cases (for me).

I could barely notice a difference. I wish I had a place close to me whee I could try stuff out. Would save me lots of time and money.

I did end up renting a tamron 200-500. Going to be using it around noon so not too worried about the slowness.

Although that 500mm made me feel all tingly in my pants.

Let us know how you like it. I'm currently saving up for either that one or Tamrons new one that will be coming out soon (can't remember the exact range but it goes to 600).

borrowlenses doesn't have it yet. Says march, now I just have to find a excuse to rent one.
