Finally got to go to a real camera store!

borrowlenses doesn't have it yet. Says march, now I just have to find a excuse to rent one.

I have no doubt they're still hard to come by. The first 8 at the local store here were spoken for. I got to play with a floor model last week. My name is on the second Nikon they get in.

Runnah, rent the Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens. That was the best Canon lens I have ever had on my camera. I also used a TC with it a little bit.

Not long enough sadly, shooting very far. 500mm is probably just going to cut it. But I have the big prime lens bug now...

This plays very nicely with either this or this. Real joy to use, but does take a bit of getting used to.

Buy from a real professional dealer...PDX's "ProPhoto Supply". How about a Canon 400mm f/2.8-L, the NON-is model for $2,000?? I was in earlier..they have MULTIPLE big-glass Canon L teles in the used case, including a nice 500mm f/4 for $5500. No sales tax in this state to buyers from anywhere...this si the store where I have bought most of my stuff for the last 22 years or so.
