I think it's great. There should 1/2 a dozen chickens in every backyard. My wife is after me to start, but I don't want to do the work. Eggs can be healthy food if you get them from healthy chickens. The eggs in the grocery store have many of the nutrients removed because those nutrients aren't feed to the chickens.

I've no problem with chickens, even as a city resident. But my neighbor has at least one rooster (which he is not allowed to have). My bedroom window is probably 50 yards from his yard, and we are constantly in touch with our zoning officials because he'll remove the roosters from the property for the inspection, and then put them back when he is done.
