Hi all,

So at great long last I finally got myself a speedlite. Its not a great one being a cheapo yongnuo yn460, manual flash with no bells and whistles. The good news is it has an optical slave that I can use for cheap ocf.

So I'm reading the Strobist blog 101 and 102 by David Hobby but is there anything else online I should read?

Stop reading and go out and play. Then come back and go read.

When you've gone through all of the Strobist lessons and Light, Science and Magic, then I highly recommend Joe McNally's, The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light From Small Flashes, followed by his book, Sketching Light: An Illustrated Tour of the Possibilities of Flash and The Moment It Clicks: Photography Secrets from One of the World's Top Shooters. Then get a copy of Dean Collins' Photographic Global Notes Volumes 1 & 2. Also, Learning to Light: Easy and Affordable Techniques for the Photographer is another excellent resource I highly recommend.

Thanks Buckster, that looks like a good reading list.

Runnah, I will be playing about with it too mate - the reading material is for when I'm not snapping away!
