I followed this Great Blue Heron around for about 40 minutes before it finally scored it's evening meal. It just sort of ignored me, which happens once in a while, and let me get pretty close.

You stalking it while it stalked it's prey. Good set.

Nice captures. Any idea what kind of fish that was that it caught, some sort of catfish maybe?

I'm thinking of sending this pic to the Park Rangers, since I have the same question. There are no Bullheads, Catfish or Carp in this lake that I know of. I've been fishing/kayaking on it for 40 years and have never seen/caught one.

Very nice set! The fish body, fins, and tail look like a walking catfish, and are considered an invasive species.

I sent a pic to the Park website and my Ranger buddy Michelle said they just stocked the lake with Brown Bullheads this spring.
