Finding it hard to get motivated, 2 shots for c&c

Ok, so I live in Arkansas and just recently we received 7-8 inches of snow. That is a TON for us. Most winters we don't even get snow. I hate hate hate cold weather so lately I have been finding it hard to get motivated. I am going to try to get out this afternoon and take some shots. Here are 2 that I currently have.

I'm in the same boat... hard to find things to shoot when there's so little color.

First shot could be a bit sharper and the 2nd seems to have a bit too much contrast.

Something I've been playing with is desaturating about 80% of the color out of a shot then sharpening the hell out of it. Seems to create an interesting Winter effect.
