By the way - when did the lesser black clothed penguin grow those ears? Perhaps just the effect of "Stein disease" on her so called friends - there is always one when you take a group photo! Lovely to see you all enjoying yourselves.

Sheesh, I sure learned a lesson there! I broke my own rule of never ordering a hamburger when 'abroad', but made a rushed decision in Hamburg (hey, 'when in Rome', right?) And what I got was indeed a revolting appearing thing consisting of a thin strip of pink, marinated meat covered with a quarter-inch slab of some clear, jelly-like material. Which promptly caused me to deny to the waitress I'd ever ordered it. Too bad no one got a picture of it!

Egads! I practically had to drag Colin onto the plane, kicking and screaming that he didn't want to leave Germany! Hertz and the others led the poor lad astray, plying him with beer, wine, and well, a travel item purchased in the men's loo at Lüneburg. Anty is planning an 'intervention' for him as we speak.....

I'm most impressed with all your photos up here, and become more and more reluctant to post any of mine.

But then: has there been time for me to work on them? Sister left only this morning, f-i-l arrived this afternoon... but he's gone back home without wanting to spend the night, and tomorrow is a NORMAL Monday (!), no 12-hour-trips to Hamburg, NOTHING, and that might mean ... in case I leave the household as it is ... :scratch: ... that even the "main host" could possibly, maybe, start to post SOME of her photos from the BIG EVENT.

Can't wait to see my sister's pics, and I'll also get a CD with my dad's "photos taken from the banks" when he followed us on our cruise down the river Wümme in the canoes.

So this thread is far from having ended here! FAR from it

And I'm soooo glad your father took some of the canoeing, as most of us were too afraid to take our cameras out while in the tippy boats. It was such a fun morning, I'm glad there are some shots of it (Jeff took some too).
