Congratulations on your new 30D! 
It WAS late by the time you got round to taking your first photos, eh?
Someone could no longer keep their eyes open (and it is not your cat!
They like the night, don't they?)
What flash came with the camera, or what flash did you use?
In order to keep the place tidy, I shall move these over to People and Pets, for I see that it is exactly THAT that these two photos show, don't you agree

I suppose people and pets is, in fact, the appropriate place for them. The 20D has a built in flash, I also got a 430EX to go with. Hooray! Expect a deluge of new pics soon.
