Like I posted before, I got a second light. Here are the first two shots. I like the posture of the first on, but the lighting more on the second.

Try using it as a rim light and put up a reflector for fill

Do you have any modifiers? I think your second light is not positioned in the most advantageous spot. Is the second meant to be a fill or a hair/accent light? The second catch light is the tell, as is the shadow cast more noticible in #1. Tells me that you increased light output in #2.

If your key light is 45° camera left, try having your fill (second light) just slightly camera left. Alternativly, have your second light as a hair light at ~135° camera right. Such that there is not a second catch light, but a separation, accent light.

The key light is much better positioned in #2.

Try to have him take a half step back with his left foot and place his weight on the left heel. This will create a better angle on the shoulders.

The second catchlight (kiddo's right eye) is from a reflector, not the second light.... although I agree that the second light is obtrusive. I'm going to have a lot of fun playing around with this..... Thanks for input! Much appreciated as always!

^ Your second attempt is pretty damn good for only 2 lights.

second attempt is 10 times better, you now have shadows and shape to his face, the hair light just need turning down a touch
