First Attempt with First Portrait Lens

OK well I have always been more of a landscape, macro kinda guy as I really don't have an eye for photographing people.
But my wife's constant complaints about me taking pics of bugs or mountains while the kids sit behind me has encouraged me to purchase a 50mm F/1.8 Portrait lens.

Anyway here are my first three attempts (Inside at night in low light.)
The theme is. Dinner Time! Hotdog Octopodes! :thumbup:

i think #1 is cool, #2 is pretty underexposed #3 the subject is off center and the top of the head is slightly cut off.

Not bad for your first time, keep going at it. thats a fun lens
