This is my first real attempt at a macro shot. Please critique.

It's a little out of focus and the lighting is real flat. Background came out OK. What lens and camera?

Canon T3 w/ EF S 18-55mm IS II, it was cloudy but I just got the camera and couldn't wait. Thanks for the feeback!

Welcome Juga, It looks like you're in good hands here.

One additional suggestion would be to change your status from not allowing edits to allowing edits. It makes it much easier to show you what may have gone wrong and possible fixes.
