First attempts at shooting birds - CC Welcome

So here are my first real attempts a bird photography and I am curious to know how I did.

Good start but it looks like a scattergun approach shooting anything with feathers.

When shooting on water use a polar filter so you can also see below the water. And ZOOM IN, you will need a 400 lens ususlly

Look for that different shot these nest just outside my house so I just shoot, go to conservation areas and spend a whole day waiting it can take HOURS

That's an awesome shot!

As for the zooming in I was quite limited with my 55-250 but I did try to get as close as I could.
Interesting about the filter, I wasn't aware that it helps you see into the water and definitely good to know. I will try harder with the composition, however I must admit it gave me a much deeper respect for bird photographer as they are not an easy subject to work with.

I think the best one is actually the chicken. Try to focus on the eyes though. The parrot is pretty good, but could use a little more room on the left side of the frame IMO.
