Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
OK first things first I have NO idea why photobucket is making them look so drab! in photoshop and on facebook the color is much more vibrant!! Perhaps I have something messed up in my color settings. Any advice on this would be appreiciated.

Aside from that how do you feel about these?? which do you like more?? this is my first attempt and automotive photography.

I like the angle of the 2nd shot. But believe I would have used a ladder and shot down to emphasize the T-Top to get another look, right now you have to look real close to know it is there. Background is kind of busy, shooting down may have got rid of that as well.

Shoot well, Joe

C&C per req:

I'm puzzled; based on the parameters in your EXIF data, there's no way you should have that much DoF; has the background been added in post? Overall, they're not bad, but trying to shoot cars with only natural lighting is very difficult. You've got a lot of distracting shadow and reflection in the paint work. I also think that sunrise/set was probably not the ideal time. Did you consider lighting the interior a little?

Overall, I prefer #2; the "pose" is much nicer, but I'd sill like to see it moved a bit more to the left and leveled.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

I was pleasently surprised by the clarity in the background as well but it is in fact real thats downtown Royal Oak MI, I actually used two remote strobes to fill shadows on these. I dont know why my EXIF reads did not fire I know they did. As far as lighting the inside of the car, yeah i should have tried that just didnt cross my mind something to try next time. Thanks for the review lots of good stuff for next time!

For automotive shots, I think a level ground will help with these shots, and generally with cars at those angles, you want to get all four wheels in the picture, such as

just my .02

Also note, I was not shooting at sunset/sunrise and had a lot of light coming through the trees. I will probably take more this weekend unless Miss Emily decides she wants Florida to drown... lol

Well Thanks for contributing, but I think I will stick with what I'm doing over what your doing...

Also note, I was not shooting at sunset/sunrise...
Apologies; I was simply making an assumption based on the long shadows and what appears to be the sun just rising or setting over the horizon, reflected in the right, rear quarter-panel of image #1.

I did not write that I WAS shooting at sunset....the dude with the mustang wrote that

Good for a first shoot.

I like #1 better, except it's looking a little yellow.
I do not like "JDM YO!!" angles. :lmao:

I like the second shot of the mustang (though I think it would be super sweet if the tires were turned a bit) but the first one does nothing for me, and nothing at all for the car.

I like both your shots, the second more so. The color is blah tho I do agree, I'm sure the original is much better color wise.

Shooting cars is one of my favorite things to do, being in an all Imports car club. I got to go to a lot of car shows. Which lets me take lots of car photos. BTW nice shots..

Whats JDM YO!! angles??

When you tilt the camera excessively to one side making it seem like if the handbrake isn't on in the car, it'll roll off the screen.
It's a staple of automotive fauxtographers and ricers. (yours isn't a ricer...not saying it is...not saying your a fauxtographer either)

Ah, Thanks for clearing that up. I took a bunch flat as well maybe I will play with those in lightroom next. Yeah, she's definetly not ricer, we don't much care for them here in detroit go american muscle or go home!

lol, I agree.

My take: I don't mind the angles, they're not horribly overdone. What settings were your strobes set at? I would have liked to see them bumped up a bit more, or moved closer to the vehicle to cut down on the shadowing even more. You know, make it stand out in the shot. As of right now, the sky draws my eyes to it more than the vehicle does and that should be reversed. First shot, wheel should have been turned the other direction.
