Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I just got my Opteka extension tubes yesterday, and couldn't wait to try these out. They were taken with a 24-105L on a 5DmkII. Let me know what you think!

1: One of my cousin's eye:

4: My eye (my uncle took it for me):

Any C&C or advice is greatly appreciated :)

I think you can bring out more detail with some crafty PP.

I think it's a really cool set.. all being composed the same way but each vastly different from the last. A lot of gallery sets are done that way..

EDIT: Quick dirty edit (kinda not proud of my work here..) to show what I mean. Just some selective sharpening and burning/dodging. Also this one had a green tint and I overcorrected a bit with red, but I'm sleepy.
Would be better if starting with a RAW file obviously..

Interesting idea. The colors in the iris are striking.

Ok so thanks to Reznap, I decided to play around with the shot of my eye a little more. Better?

I think they would look good in black and white with a little increase in contrast. Here's my go at one.

Edit: Also, if you decide against B&W, I think some of the skin colours in a couple of your photos are overexposed / oversaturated. Bring those down a bit more and I think they'll look better!

Edit 2: And forgot to add--great shots, by the way! I tried something like this once but could never get it right! :lmao:

^NOOOOOO B&W.

@Reznap... I think we started something here!!

@ OP...I would get even closer, so that the iris fills the frame!

Like this one:

You're lucky you had someone else willing to do it, I had to do mine selfshot!

Lots more detail in that 2nd edit. Blue eyes usually look really cool close up, no exception here, especially with the colored specks you have going on.

I like the edit on the blue eye! I would clean up some of the red out of the surrounding part but the sharpening and stuff looks good on the iris!

^ That looks good.

I take pictures of eyes to see the vivid color, and obviously that gets lost in a B&W version.
My .02.

Ohhh, okay. See, when I look at eye photos I love all the intricate lines created by the overlapping eyelashes, the skin patterns, the little imperfections you don't usually see. I don't really focus on the colours, so I thought, hey, if I just cut the colours, all those lines will be so much more defined.

But I guess it's how different people look at it!

Cheers.

Amazing shots!!! I love the blue eyes! Can't wait to pick up some extension tubes to try them on my daughters blue eyes.
