Well, bought my new camera on the way home from work last night, Panasonic FZ18, 8MP 18x zoom. Didnt get chance to play with it last night as I had to charge the batteries on it, Ive upgraded from a standard 5MP 3x zoom point and press. Anyhow, took a few shots this morning before I came to work as I was waiting for the girlfriend to get ready. Basically took half a dozen shots just messing with the zoom and features off my balcony but chuffed how these 3 came out. Comments welcome, I'll be having a proper play with it this weekend to get familiar with it, and the bonus is it shoots in RAW
hi and welcome to the forum! i checked out that cam you got on amazon, and it says it;s currently $499. just out of curiosity, is there anything that lead you to this camera specifically? the only reason i ask, is that seems like a lot of dough to drop on an advanced P&S that;s 8.1MP...for that money you could have gotten a decent (entry-level) dslr setup... just curious. welcome to the addiction that is photography.
Well I picked it up for $200 which is why I got it, as I couldnt afford to stretch to a DSLR just yet basically because Ive not been in Canada long so am still recovering from the initial outlay of moving here. Its second hand but got it from Henry's photography shop and has 3 years warrenty.
The Panasonics have Leica lens:thumbup:, thats one reason to buy them, they also shoot in RAW too. I used to have the 7.1 MP model, it worked great.
Welcome to the addiction. May I tempt you with lens hoods, flashes, and other wonderful accessories? Maybe a case, bag, or tripod to sink your wallet into? *opens trenchcoat* Cheers, and welcome! :-D
