Adorable photo. It looks a little grainy however I do really like the way the light falls on her face.

I like the grain, gives it film look but its underexposed.
If you'll be playing with B&W, look up zone system. Not that color isn't applicable, but with B&W, you don't get distracted by the colors.

I think the blanket by the head is deceiving you...unless I'm not looking at what you are.

Well, my first comment on this photo is:

CONGRATULATIONS!

A first grandchild is QUITE something, I think (I'm not there yet)! So that alone is worth posting the photo.

And yes, I'm sure what Frequency takes for hair is a pattern on the blanket.
I like how you worked with the ambient light.

Thought so, 'cause when you said something I hadda do a double take to make sure I was actually seeing a blanket lol...
