first lens for a D60 Kit

Ok so i got the Nikon D60 kit with the 18-55 vr and the 55-200 vr lens, but i am thinking about picking up the 50mm 1.8 for my birthday. The question is, is this the first thing that you would get, keep in mind that i have a CP and UV filter. I will also be picking up a tripod, but i think i need to pick that out by feel.

Pick up a "good" tripod before you get another lens. You already have the 50mm focal length covered. Unless there is a particular reason, redundancy is a waste...... at least in the early days.

The cost of that lens will also buy you a nice Manfrotto ball head for the legs you get. (488RC2 or RC4 or the 322RC2)

OK, I guess you missed it! I will be picking up a tripod this week on my own and my birthday is Jan 3rd so i need something for the wife to get me!
