First Macros

I bought my wife the 60mm EF-S for Xmas and she was excited to use it for the first time at the botanical gardens. We are both newbie photographers and she was excited that I got her a lens better than the kits lens for macro purposes. Here are some of the shots from today and I'm sure you will see more of her work as she plays with the lens.

nice shots.

some could need some better defined focus though (in the first one the focus would best be on the two ants in the foreground, the last one could need a tiny bit more DOF)

however, those frames you applied are really irritating. the yellowish colour in the first is the worst IMHO.

For just starting, you did well.

The last one could be dramatically improved with a tighter crop, eliminating the (non-pink) left side of image
