First moon shoot please c&c.

Too fast a shutter speed and not enough light will hit the sensor, so you tell the sensor to be more sensitive to the light that is available by bumping up the ISO...you could also open the aperture more but then you lose DoF, not like it matters all that much...best bet is to just use a tripod...mirror-lock...remote-shutter-release and a delay set...set lens to f/11, ISO 100 and shutter speed of 1/10 (depending on amount of light hitting the moon)...full moons suck anyways...almost no definition...unless you like the look of a pop-up flash all flat and uninspiring...that's one of the main reasons the OP photo was soft-like...

I understand how ISO works. I meant in this particular case (the OP's photo was over exposed) bumping up the shutter speed would correct the exposure. There would be no need to increase the ISO.

it was more of a reference to AGentDrex. No need to use very fast shutter in general. Specifically yes, there is something to correct.
 
Just caught it looking the other way I guess. I have seen that in a few other moon pics as well.
