Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I've been shooting for quite a while now, but I always stayed away from doing photo shoots because I think they're too awkward. I'm pretty tired of doing that, so I want to start doing some shoots.

What do you guys think the must haves are for a shoot?
What kind of lights?
What kind of equipment?

I have no idea where to start.

:gah::gah:

Try searching!! If you have no idea what you need, your not ready, THREAD.

I would recommend finding someone that you kid of know, or a friend of a friend. Enough to make you feel a little out of your comfort zone. Use what you have and do it for free. You will gain a much more thorough understanding of what you need and the process of a shoot after that.

Blake is nicer than me apparently. Good advice.

Yeah that's what I was planning on doing.
I take pictures of my friends all the time, without any external flash, or lighting equipment. Just me, my camera, and the natural light.

thats what i did, found a friend of a friends. got to know her and did a shoot. and afterwards i found a ton of stuff i should have done and would do diffrent, she let me shoot her again and found even more stuff i need to work on. just do it for fun. don't charge anyone until you know you can do a great job (if thats the route yoru going) otherwise just practice.

Yes...Blake strives to make people want to do better and try new things here on The BEGINNERS FORUM. ya know, a "place to brush on some of the Basics...Don't be shy"....while your advice is much appreciated and often looked forward too, a lot of the times you are unnecessarly just plain old mean, and that sucks for a new person.
New peeps come here because they are interested in photography and want to do things better, we are not professionals, we just love to take photos and want some advice...again...BEGGINERS FORUM...if your getting so tired of redundant questions...why not take your mean old bully self and go to an ADVANCED forum for Christ's sakes.

ok...had to get that off my chest, I'm in your shoes perfectusername...I just started getting into portraits, I've been doing pics for friends of their kids and yesterday I did a "we moved" series for another set of friends, and it landed me a job this saturday...I didnt bring anything other then my one and ONLY camera and lens...and a tripod.
The more you do, and get better each time, the more confidence you will have where you will want to start making money...I'm excited about finally making some money so I can get more equipment to take better pics! It's fun to see and feel your progress.
I wanted to ask some opinions on how to change something on one of my pics, but I decided against it so I wouldn't get any rude huffing and puffing from the people who claim to be here to help...so I just send them to the people that help me with encouragement, even if it has critisim, because they are here to help, while OTHERS are here to get their Freaking EGO'S STROKED, and since I'm married I got plenty of stroking going on at home--I dont' need to offer it here too :-P

Good luck! I hope you can find what you need. Maybe you need to SEARCH A NEW THREAD ON A NEW FORUM.

Damn Bullies...I'm calling Dr. Phil on ya'll!

Can't help much with your original question but I wanted to add: practice, practice, practice! I've roped 3 couples (friends) into letting me take their pictures and haven't charged a cent yet...not planning to until I figure out exactly what I'm doing. I've learned something new each time, but I know that it will be awhile before I feel comfortable charging people.

As previously mentioned, hang out and do some searches on the forum - I've learned tons just from "lurking". Good luck!
