These are a few of the first photographs I took with my new camera. C&C please...I'm ready to learn!

#1, selective color doesn't work here... Not really sure that it would look any better with not being selective color. Try cropping so that the flower isn't centered in the frame.

#2, there's lens flare right in the middle. Very distracting...

#3, noisy and it doesn't "work" for the image...

#4, the shadow at the top left is kind of distracting. Did you use the pop up flash on your camera for this photo?

#3 you forgot to include the top of structure
#1 i actually like the edit but too centered and would frame the flower more

#1 has some potential. Try cropping it according to the 'rule of thirds' (I would also convert it to b&w and sharpen a bit).

Thanks for the comments,...I'm going to get better. I've read the composition rules and looked at some other websites that gave me so ideas. I actually have a clue as to what I'm doing now I'm going out today...so more photos soon.

Good luck on your next photo shoot!! One of the best things you can do is shoot as much as possible!! Then review what you got and figure out what worked and what didn't. Have fun!!
