Never shot digital before, so learning everything from scratch. Not so much different I guess... here is my first shot with the new camera:

I just got the D50 as well and not having as much luck. I really need to sit down and learn how to use this thing. I am still not that great with the aperture/shutter speed etc. so my photos look like they were taken with a cheap camera by a novice

Maybe that is my problem, i have been trying to do everything in strictly manual!! LOL

I just got a D50 4 hours ago and hope I can get used to this thing! So many features than my rebel 35 mm. Anyway, I love the colors in the first shot being so vivid...its such a wonderful composition with an everyday subject
