First shot at a website for my photos

Opinions folks its all good. The 2 ive had so far are:

Subsections
More than 1 track for the music

Photography

It's ssslllloooowwwww. Flash works best for minimalist websites.

I also think that it would be better not to put a background image in the galleries. I clicked on the People section and there was an image of a wine glass behind the gallery strip. It divides attention.

I'm a sucker for the interactivity of flash websites though. I like the layout.

First mistake: Flash.
Second mistake: Effect heavy which makes for very slow/sluggish browsing.
Third mistake: Background music.

This is what I could make out in roughly 20 seconds.
Normally I would've closed a page like this after about 2 seconds because of the music.

No offense but flashy effects and cool music do not make a good website.

It was a good thought, but like most others have said it's a bit slow on the load and that's with a pretty fast connection. Remember your website doesn't have to be extra stylish to make your work good. In fact, I'd prefer to see a mimalist website that was smooth and showed me what kind of work you can do. Just my .02

I'll chime in with the others to say that it's slow. I would suggest you dump the Flash in favour of a clean HTML site. You can provide a nice presentation without all the Flash overkill. I killed the music as soon as I found the control to do so.

I got a 403 in a new browser window when I clicked on the blog link.

Just to add my two cents and really its just reiterating what people have already said.

1.) I really dislike flash websites, you can achieve similar if not better results using newer languages (updated languages)
2.) I never ever use background music on my own websites and never recommend it to people

If I were you I would go with a minimal, clean cut design maybe using a simple jQuery script such as Lightbox to display your images.
