First shots and editing...please C&C

I 'get' #3 but it just misses the mark with the editing. Not enough contrast and rather dull. The others do nothing for me.

Keep shooting. As far as using editing software the easy answer is less=better. Look on YouTube for tutorials and keep reading here. I've been using PS for 20 (?!) years and have still no idea how to use it properly.

Watch your backgrounds. The guy in the last one has a lamp on his head. And based on the look on his face, he doesn't appear to be in a lampshade-on-the-head kind of mood.

Yeah I wish I could get rid of the lampshade...I just kind of point and shot that one. Good advice though.

We can't do effective C&C without seeing the unedited originals.

I strongly recommend posting just one photo at a time for C&C.

Good...point. Should I upload an unedited and edited version? I'll stick to just one at at time from now on.

im not a fan of the back of the head shot not enough info. and i think the pp on the last is too strong
