Recently got a Canon 450D, so here are some quick shots I took at school. Don't slap me for using the auto setting for now...I'm still trying to work my way into Program mode and full manual. But yeah, comments and critiques are welcome.

the first one looks out of focus, and hes making a wierd face lol. The rest look ok at first glance! nice work i shot a xsi a couple times and loved it as an entry camera. Have fun :)

Thanks Steve. I bought the camera used (in perfect condition) here in Texas. An acquaintance of mine, James, was originally going to sell me a D3000, but he decided to keep it. I found this one. Still looking for a nice sling bag to fit it though. It's got a battery grip, which complicates things...

But thanks, I'm a novice photographer, and I'm ready to see what this baby can do.

What's up buddy. Good to see you join forum!! Battery grip looks good in your self portrait. Maybe I need to post mine up as well!

Nice shots, and congrats on the new camera!! what mode are you shooting in?
and by the way.. resize your images next time, they take forever to load.

sorry im an idiot.. i saw you said you were using auto settings, theres nothing wrong with that, especially with the indoor lighting, but just keep shooting and once you get more comfortable with the camera then start messing with manual setings. Practice, practice practice!

Scotch,

Sorry about that, I use ImageShack and I forgot to tick the box. I'll get it next time. Thanks, and I use No-Flash Auto and Manual. I forget which settings on which photos though. I think Cody's portrait is in Manual.

Thanks, It seems like a well rounded forum. You should! You recently got the...D90? Right?

Yup the d90 is the one I got this week. Haven't upadate the signature yet. Oh well I will soon enough haha

If you like portraits, stay far from people and use a longer focal length. Their noses will be less evident ;) .

Good advice here. Most people aren't going to open this thread though... It takes too long for images to load and they probably won't wait. It's best to resize the photo to no more than 800 (in whatever the longest is) for forum viewing. There might even be a rule about it.

Funny how your first shots are portrait shots with 1 person eyes in the camera etc. Congrats with your new camera.

Thanks, I'm enjoying it. Well, I figured those were better than just some random shots from around the house haha.
